Team Mom
In general the responsibilities of a Team Mom are to do the administrative tasks for the team so the coach can dedicate more time to coaching, the players and team development.
The following guidelines will help you successfully fulfill this important role.
- Attend Team Mom meetings and be informed of upcoming events, park policies, duties or new information.
- Maintain communication with other team moms, your team coach and parents.
- Get to know the team and family members. Don’t feel you have to go it alone. You can absolutely delegate some duties to other parents who are willing to help.
- Create a team contact list that includes:
Player names and jersey numbers
Parents' or guardians names
Players' siblings names
Parents' best contact number and email addresses.
(This will allow you to easily create a team roster and snack rotation schedule as well as communicate effectively with parents)
- Make an effort to be at all practices and games. If you cannot make a practice or game please let the coach and parents know so that a parent can assist if needed.
- As a Team Mom it is important that you create a positive experience for everyone, be organized by staying on top of information but above all show enthusiasm for the game.
You will find the time and effort you put in as a volunteer Team Mom to be fun and rewarding.
